HonorScroll conveniently offers current students a way to supplement their studies, former students a way to refresh what they learned, and others a way to gain exposure to subjects that interest them.

HonorScroll revolves around a simple concept—connecting students through their course textbooks. The application itself rests on three pillars.

First, HonorScroll serves as a study supplement, uploading notes and other learning tools to students screens that corresponds to the textbook that the student is using for each class. This will allow each student to supplement their everyday studies by having condensed learning tools delivered right to their screens. The notes and flashcards that students will have access to for free will be user generated content (provided by students) and filtered for accuracy using a user-rating system based on color schemes.

Second, because students must input each textbook’s ISBN #, they will automatically be connected with every other student who also uses that same textbook. HonorScroll thus also serves as a social network. Students will be organized by 1) the textbook they are using for each particular class, 2) the university they attend, and 3) by their names in alphabetical order. This will allow students to engage with other students who have similar interests and perhaps similar career prospects, giving them the opportunity to ask questions and discuss topics in real time. Former students will be denoted as "alum" and non-students as "non-university affiliated."

The third leg of HonorScroll will allow students to winnow down the people that they are already connected with into smaller, more intimate study groups, in a chat-room like format. This will give students unfettered access to interact with other students with whom they choose to further engage with, allowing them to share documents such as spreadsheets and comprehensive course notes that they feel comfortable sharing with those in their respective study groups.
